Although the African continent has a rich cultural and linguistic diversity with more than 2000 languages, the question of the language of learning and teaching, across every level of education remains a contentious issue. Only 25% of African languages are used in secondary education across the continent, and a mere 5% in higher education.
Published monthly since 2010, the Word of the Month is a short, irreverent focus on terms in the headlines. The format combines original artwork, definitions, examples & expressions from the Gymglish creative team.
